“Taylor Hawkins Tribute” concert: Here’s why Stewart Copeland was moved to tears

The tribute concert for the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins caused emotional moments not only for fans. A video showing Hawkins’ son Shane playing drums on the Foo Fighters song “My Hero” has been viewed more than 6 million times on YouTube. Some of the musicians involved were just as touched, as The Police drummer Stewart Copeland said.

“I started crying,” Copeland said the broadcaster CBS. “He has it. He has such power, such enthusiasm. He has his father’s attitude and musical language.” It was very emotional to watch Shane. Copeland himself performed with the remaining Foo Fighters throughout the evening, performing Police songs “Next to You” and “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic”.
