The young woman had attended a company party on the night of September 28 to 29, 2024 and took a taxi home afterwards. She was drunk, she stated, and therefore did not want to drive herself. The driver started talking about sex along the way and asked her for a kiss. She gave it, hoping that it would remain that way. Instead, he drove to a remote, dark place, where he raped her outside the car.

The court deemed the victim’s statement authentic and reliable. She had consistently stated that she had clearly stated that she was drunk and did not want sex. Shortly after the incident, a witness saw her walking down the street crying, after which the woman immediately told what had happened.

“The victim had ordered a taxi because she had been drinking and wanted to get home safely,” the verdict states. Her lawyer described during the hearing that the woman still lives in fear and pain. She cannot talk about the incident in therapy and avoids anything that reminds her of that night.

The court takes the driver seriously for subordinating the consequences of his act to his own sexual desires.

In addition to the one and a half year unconditional prison sentence, he will receive a six-month suspended prison sentence, which will be carried out if he commits another crime within three years. He is also not allowed to work as a taxi driver for four years and must report to the probation service, which can decide whether treatment is necessary.
