Iskelmä singer Tauno “Tauski” Peltonen turns 63 today, November 15. His life has been colored by numerous hit songs, marriages, Kohut and various twists and turns.

Tauski came to the public in 1986 with his song Parkway. Before his solo career, he had time to participate in several bands such as Fever, Revontule and Eija Sinika’s backing band.

Tauski’s most famous solo songs include, among others Without you, Just you, Utopia, An angel whispers to me, That’s how I belong to you and I adore you.

Tauski has also worked as a songwriter, and most of his solo songs are his own compositions. In addition, he has been involved in making songs for, among others, Merja Raski, CatCat and Juhamati.

Five marriages

Tauski has been married five times to four different women, and his marriages have often been in the headlines over the years.

Tauski got married for the first time Tina Peltonen (formerly Silfver) in 1988. The marriage lasted 15 years and ended in divorce in 2003. They had three children during the union.

In the same year, 2003, he married Virpi Kätkä, who sang in the band CatCat. Tauski has revealed that the couple’s romance started with a secret relationship back in 1993 when he was still married to his ex-wife Tina. Tauski and Virpi’s union ended in divorce in 2011. Two children were born from the union.

The couple’s breakup was very contentious and differences and custody disputes were settled for a few years until the court. In the end, the ex-couple found an agreement and even a few years ago they made music together again.

In the same year, 2011, the pop singer got married to a dancer for her third marriage Henna Peltonen (formerly Tuominen) with However, the marital happiness did not last long, as already seven months after the wedding, Henna filed for divorce. At that time, Henna was expecting her and Tauski’s joint child.

In 2015, it was reported that Tauski had abused Henna in 2012 when she was pregnant. In 2015, Tauski received a verdict in the District Court of Varsinais-Finland for abusing Henna. Among other things, Tauski had pulled Pelto’s hair, strangled him by the neck and hit him. Tauski was fined and owed 2,485 euros.

In the court, Tauski’s sentence was considerably reduced. He was considered guilty of a slap on the cheek. The sentence title was still assault, but in court the fines were significantly reduced, Tauski only had to pay 300 euros.

Tauski married a Gambian for his fourth marriage Saffiatoun with in 2014, but the union quickly ended in divorce.

In 2019, it was reported that Tauski and Henna Peltonen were together again. The previously divorced couple remarried in September 2023.

In 2020, Tauski told Iltalehte that he had lost 25 kilos. The decision to change lifestyle came after numerous trips to the hospital.

– The doctor warned that I have an 80 percent higher risk of having a stroke with that stomach. It stopped, Tauski said at the time to Iltalehti.

Tauski has talked about his problems with alcohol over the years, and in 2024 he told Iltalehte that he started Minnesota treatment.

Before this, Tauski said that he had visited the A-clinic and therapy, but he did not get help from these forms of treatment.

In September, Tauski told MTV’s Huomenta in Finland that he received the Minnesota treatment for a whole new lifestyle.

– Don’t go to the gym seven times a week, but start living a normal and peaceful life. Remember to rest, do the work and keep the home nest in order, your own nest in order, he enumerated.

Iltalehti reported last week that Henna Peltonen filed for divorce in Pirkanmaa district court on Tuesday, November 4. The district court was also told that Peltos already had a pending divorce earlier this year.

However, the previous application did not proceed. According to the district court, the matter has been dealt with in February 2025, as the applicant could, for example, withdraw the application.

Henna filed that divorce application alone.
