Tatjana Maria continues to look for her form in the still young tennis season.
The 38-year-old from Bad Saulgau was eliminated in the first round of a WTA competition at the 1000 tournament in Indian Wells for the fifth time in a row. The former Wimbledon finalist had to admit defeat to the Romanian Sorana Cirstea 4:6, 6:4, 3:6 despite a fight that lasted almost two hours.
So far this year, Maria has only won victories in January in Hobart and at the Challenger tournament Manila, but she also didn’t make it past the second round in Australia and the Philippines. The Australian Open was also over after a disappointing performance in the first round.
