As early as December 2024, the environmental agency ordered Tata to stop the exceedances at the factory, but measurements taken last year showed that emissions were still too high. Subsequent measurements are still being assessed and may lead to new fines.
Tata continues to exceed standards
Emissions are also too high at coke gas factory 1. The environmental department has already collected a penalty of more than 8.5 million euros twice for that factory. Because Tata continues to exceed the standards there, the agency also assesses whether this should have consequences for the permit for the installation. This can be withdrawn in extreme cases.
