Tappara went really deep

The victory in the local game was good for Oskari Luodo, who scored the deciding goal.

– We went really deep.

That’s what Tappara scored the winning goal against Ilves on Friday Oskari Luoto.

In the opening set, Ax were down 0–3, but after 60 minutes of play, the video board at the Nokia Arena read Ilves 3 and Tappara 5.

– When we were three goals down, we talked about the need to improve and raise the level. It was done. We came from behind in the flats and passed, so you have to be satisfied.

Christian Heljanko was replaced from Tappara’s goal after three setbacks. Eetu Randelin kept zero, but he got off pretty easy.

– It was a pretty great match, Luoto commented.

Luoto scored the second league goal of his career when the little black slipped past the Ilves keeper by Jonas Gunnarsson back on Friday in time 51.29.

– Sweet and special paint.

The win was Tappara’s first of the season against Ilves.

– You can’t afford to hang around when you’re 1–3 behind in wins.

In September, in the first local game of the league season, Ilves was better with 5–3 goals, in October 4–3 and in November with an overtime goal 4–3.

The series points are 8–4 in favor of Ilves after the local match on 4/6.
