In the hockey champions’ league, the CHL has progressed to the playoff stage. Of the four Finnish league teams that participated, Tappara and Jukurit made it to the next round.
Tappara won their own group by taking four regular time wins. Tampere will face HC Davos of the Swiss league in the opening round of the playoffs.
Davos finished second in Group H with two losses. At the moment, Davos is fourth in his home country’s league.
In group A, Jukurit finished second in the group, losing only to Lulaja, who won the group twice. Jukurie’s playoff opponent is also from Switzerland, Friborg Gotteron.
The team won their group, losing only one game. The start of the Swiss league has been quieter, as Fribourg is in ninth place.
Ilves and TPS did not make it to the top two from their own group. TPS lost their chance to advance early on, but Ilves had a chance to advance against Norwegian Stavenger on Wednesday. Stavanger beat the league’s top team at home 4–2.
The next round of the CHL playoffs will take place from November 15 to November 22. In playoff pairs, both teams play one home match. Total goals decide who goes on.
