The two intimately tied the knot in Durbuy in June, but today, Wednesday, September 20, the official wedding ceremony will take place in the town hall in Olen. “Nerves? No, this is great fun. I would definitely like to do this again! I’m very happy.”

The former Miss Belgium was legally married today to her partner Michael, a luxury car dealer from Herentals. The bride and groom arrived in a vintage Jaguar car and daughter Valentina was allowed to shine as a bridesmaid. Afterwards there will be a grand garden party. Although a large wedding party with many bells and whistles was not initially planned, the guest list is said to number around 164 guests. “I called in Joyce De Troch as wedding planner so I don’t have to worry about anything,” Tanja told this newspaper at the beginning of this month. The party will feature several performances by singer friends and attendees will be able to enjoy chic street food.

Intimate ceremony in Durbuy
However, on June 18, 2023, the turtledoves already ‘married’ in an intimate circle ‘at the kiosk’ in Durbuy. It became a wedding that was not planned in advance. They were staying in the Ardennes, celebrating their 5th anniversary, when Michael got down on one knee. There wasn’t even time left for an expensive engagement ring and a bridal bouquet. They had everything arranged in less than one day. “I quickly went to a gas station to get my bouquet,” Tanja told this newspaper at the time. And her wedding dress? That turned out to be a dress from the clothing chain Zara. “It was a simple, romantic dress that I happened to have with me. Today was all about love and romance, so I thought it was appropriate. I gave the most expensive dress I had to my bridesmaid.” The ceremony was then led by Wout Bru. Valentina, daughter of Tanja, and her parents were unfortunately unable to be there at the time. “They were able to follow everything via FaceTime.”
