We want to be sure that we have a good place,” explains Bep. And they have that. But it will take hours before the theater parade starts. A little further on, Gert-Jan and Marjolein Jansen are already ready. Have come all the way from Vianen to Heeze for the Brabant Day, “This is the party of the year. The combination of the Brabant cosiness, the beautiful cars and the game of the actors is great.”

But they still have to be patient, because around the starting place the builders are still busy putting the dots on the i. At Wagenbouwersgroep De Lambrekvrienden, the last attributes are put on the car with a platform. “We have made a sheep with huge knitting needles,” explains Mark Koenen. “They were high that they were not fit in the tent. So we are putting it outside now.” The car also gets an extra lick of paint.

Because the construction tent of the Lambrekvrienden is close to the starting point of the Parade, other groups are also looking here for help. “If they have a flat tire or a broken ash then we help, so that they can start. This is how it goes on the Brabants Day. Of course we participate for the prizes, but the most important thing is the cosiness, fun and entertainment of the audience.”

But before the time has come, the early birds on the side must entertain themselves. Gert-Jan and Marjolein are well prepared. “We have taken food and books. And people watching is also very nice.”
