Syrupy Telstar gets away with a goalless draw against Almere City

In a difficult match, Telstar drew 0-0 on a visit to Almere City FC. The home team had the better chances, but neither team was able to score: 0-0.

Almere City FC got the first chance of the match through Lance Duijvesteijn. He shot at goal, but keeper Ronald Koeman Jr. turned that bet. Duijvesteijn became dangerous again moments later, but his header was not powerful enough. Almere City striker Tijmen Wildeboer also missed a great opportunity. Telstar didn’t do much in return in the first half.

Not very exciting

Telstar played a little better in the second half. Midfielder Sven van Doorm shot at goal from outside the box, which only meant the first ball between the posts for the Velsenaren. Almere keeper Nordin Bakker, who signed his contract on Friday, tapped the ball from the top corner.

The visitors played better in the second half than in the first half, but Telstar did not create any real great opportunities. In the 80th minute, Telstar managed to get away when the ball hit the post through the ball.

The Velsenaren are stuck in thirteenth place in the first division due to the draw in Almere. The team now has 27 points from 24 games. Next week, Telstar will play at home against De Graafschap.

Telstar setup: Koeman Jr., Fernandes, Molenaar, Aktas (Vandermeulen/77), Tugarinov, Zakir; Dijkstra (Akoy/77), Vlijter, Van Doorm; Smit (Plet/46), Giovanni (Van Velzen/68)
