Nicolás, when and what was the origin of this project?
Sinestesia emerged in 2018 in London, where the first tests of distillates began. We used a prototype of what is currently the still with which we make our products. Thanks to the curiosity of Nahuel Leyro Diaz (our head of the production area), who entered the world of distillates many years ago and who, thanks to his passion for whiskey, was encouraged to train in highly renowned micro distilleries in the Kingdom United and the Netherlands, was that we began this path that led to opening our distillery in the province of Buenos Aires.
What products are they making at the distillery?
We currently have two products in circulation. The original London Dry Gin, which won a gold medal at the 2023 Global Spirits Masters in the London dry gin category; and the Prunus Gin, which is a limited edition that we have launched in November 2023, whose presentation includes a wooden box with two 500 ml bottles, one matured in American oak barrels, and the other is exactly the same recipe, but without having matured in barrel.
What projects do you have for this year?
We are in the midst of developing two new distillates that will hit the market during 2024. In addition, we have already confirmed that in the coming months we will be launching the brand in Italy, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. This is the year of expansion in installed and productive capacity. Since we obtained this international recognition, demand has increased exponentially, so we have the great challenge ahead of us to continue with the best constant and the opening of new markets.
What are your differentials in the sector?
We have a unique technology for the country and Latin America. Our equipment is truly distinctive in the development of our distillates. Without going into too many technicalities, it allows flavors and aromas to be extracted in a more concentrated way and is something that all our clients constantly recognize us for. Furthermore, Nahuel (our production manager) is one of the people who knows the most about distillates in the country; He had the good fortune to train for many years with experts in the field of distillates in a region like the United Kingdom, which is one of the places in the world where the greatest per capita consumption and variety of distillates exists.
If you were starting over, what would you do differently?
I think we wouldn’t change anything. Since the origins of this project we have always been extremely careful in every step we took, very precisely analyzing each possible scenario and moving forward slowly but judiciously and steadily. This was what made us never lose our focus, understanding that the quality of the products we make is not negotiated under any aspect, which has allowed us during 2023, based on the international recognition obtained, to take a tremendous leap as a company at the level brand awareness and sales volume.
