With a personal best, synchronized swimmer Marlene Bojer achieved the best German placement at the European Championships in the technical freestyle of the solo competition in Rome.
Despite stomach problems the night before, the Munich native came in seventh with 81.9748 points and thus improved once again compared to the World Championships in Budapest seven weeks ago, when she finished eleventh.
“I’m happy that I swam and can go out with points like that,” said the 29-year-old. The Ukrainian Marta Fiedina, who had already won silver at the World Championships, won the title ahead of Italy’s Linda Cerruti and Austria’s Vasiliki Alexandri.
