“I thought it was great,” said Sweeney. “I came on board to play Christy and I trained for about three and a half months. I started eating. I did an hour of strength training in the morning, in the afternoon about two hours of kickboxing and an hour of strength training in the evening.”

The actress nominated for an Emmy wore brown contact lenses and a brown wig for her role and felt unrecognizable. “My body was completely different. I no longer fit my own clothes. Normally I have size 23 in jeans, and I wore size 27. My breasts got bigger. And my buttocks got enormous. It was insane.”
The still titll -free biopic follows the story of the groundbreaking Christy Martin, who put women’s boxing on the map in the 1990s. The recordings of the film have since been completed and the release is planned for the end of 2025.
