The struggle for the podium is developing into a thriller. Two nations are ahead. Germany, on the other hand, is far ago.
Switzerland’s ski racers have the best chances of a third gold medal at the World Cup in Saalbach. Alexis Monney, third in the special departure on Sunday, presented the best time in the first part of the team combination affected by Nebel. Team Switzerland 2, for which Tanguy NEF will contest the slalom (from 1:15 p.m. in the LiveTicker at T-Online), is only 0.02 seconds ahead of Switzerland 1 with departure world champion Franjo von Allmen and Loïc Meillard, the best slalom runner of the Confederates applies.
Team Italy 1 (+0.46 seconds) has the best starting position for the fight for the other medals. Departers Dominik Paris gave his slalom partner Alex Vinatzer a cushion of 0.49 seconds to fourth place. Team Norway 2 and France 1 have more than half a second behind in third place: In Timon Haugan (Norway) and Clement Noël (France), two of the best slalom runners of the season are now launched for these teams.
The German team has no chance. Simon Jocher, who had traveled back to the World Cup after the illness of Romed Baumann, got back to the World Cup, caught a great start to the departure, but after a serious mistake, but acted on Monney 2.07 seconds. For slalom partner Linus Straßer it will be difficult to get out at least a top 10 placement-1.61 seconds are missing for third place.
