What is the advantage of swing trading?
The benefit of swing trading is that there are many more stocks that are in a “swing” than stocks that are at the beginning of a new, long, positive trend. The active investor therefore has many more options for action.
Swing trading strategies have a shorter time horizon. Instead of targeting profits over months or years like long-term investors do, swing traders look at the time frame in days or weeks.
The best swing trading strategy for any investor depends on how much time one can devote to finding suitable stocks. It can also be said that swing trading requires an interest in stocks. Investors who have absolutely no interest in active investing and stocks are therefore more likely to stick to long-term investments.
Although the word “trading” appears in swing trading, it is not to be confused with day trading or other forms of very active trading. Swing trading has a much lower frequency. Anyone with some interest in the stock market and stocks can try swing trading.
