The two Bochumers won bronze at the European Championships on Madeira. With 237,0950 points, they only had to give up the victorious Italian Enrica Piccoli and Lucrezia Ruggiero as well as the Spanish couple with Lilou Lluís Valette and Iris Tió Casas (248,3325).
For Bleyer, after gold, it was already the second medal in Funchal in the free freestyle of the solo competition. “We hadn’t expected the medal, precisely because we have not trained the free duet for so long and generally have not swimming together for long”said the 21-year-old. “It was a mega surprise, very unexpected, but very nice.”
Seidel/Tonn ended in fifth place
Fifth place in the Mixed duet took Frithjof Seidel and Daria Tonn, who have only been swimming together for a few months and increased their best performance by almost 17 points to 174,6618. Like Bleyer and Blumenthal Haz, the two are also part of the squad of the German Swimming Association (DSV) for the World Cup in Singapore (July 11th to August 3).
