Swedish House Mafia were supposed to play their “Paradise Again” European tour at the end of September, but it has now turned out that six performances have been canceled without public notice – including shows in Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg.
The planned tour dates can still be found on the group’s social media. However, some fans who have already bought a ticket for a show have received a message from the promoter telling them that the concert has to be cancelled: “Over the past few weeks, our production team has been working tirelessly to resolve several issues solve. The cancellation was the absolute last option, but it is now necessary. All tickets will be refunded,” the Mail said.
Swedish House Mafia ignore weather conditions
Just recently, Swedish House Mafia played a gig in Los Angeles. The weather conditions weren’t ideal – it rained heavily that evening, but the band went through with their performance anyway. On the one hand good, on the other hand bad, because shortly after the show a stage equipment damage of several million dollars was reported. But the group didn’t let that stop them either: the next day they continued to play in Vancouver as planned.
Is the poor ticket sales the reason for the cancellations?
Before some concerts disappeared without a trace in the lists for ticket sales on the organizers’ websites, there were still many tickets available. It is unclear whether the shows were canceled because the tickets sold so poorly. Swedish House Mafia have not yet commented on the mysterious action.
The tour is in celebration of their current album PARADISE AGAIN, which was released in April. They also released new single “Heaven Takes You Home” in collaboration with English singer-songwriter Connie Constance on September 2nd.
