Left -back Daniel Svensson has rejected the advances of other clubs for Borussia Dortmund. For the 23-year-old Sweden, the transfer from Nordsjaelland to BVB on Deadline Day was associated with some turbulence. “It is true that there was interest from other clubs. But when that became concrete with Borussia Dortmund, I just wanted to come here. It is a very large club, one of the largest teams in Germany. When I was given the chance to play here, I really wanted to do that, ”said Svensson in an interview with the“ Ruhr Nachrichten ”.
Coach Niko Kovac had praised the professional, who was hired on a loan with a purchase option, in mid -February: “Little Svensson came and nobody had him on the list. He is a player who was there immediately. Very concentrated and very focused. One who asks if he doesn’t understand what and immediately bitten in. ” Since February 2021, Svensson has been running for the first team of Northern Shalland, played 153 games and was involved in 28 goals. The unique national player of Sweden was a long -running favorite in the Danish league and had fought all 17 missions over the full distance this season. In the latest Superliga update, its market value climbed from 3 million to 5.5 million euros.
Svensson now said about his change on the last meters of the winter transfer window: “It was special days for me. I only waited for the opportunity to go. And when I got her, I had to act quickly. We were with Nordsjaelland in the training camp in Marbella at the time, so I had nothing more or less except for my football shoes. I then flown back from Spain, packed the most important things and traveled to Dortmund a day later. It was a few intensive days, but now I have settled in and feel very good, ”said the left foot, which has been on the pitch for the black and yellow in five games for over 295 minutes.
The Dortmund advertising only became more intense after Nuri Şahin was discharged. What Svensson now confirmed: “The contact was only available to Niko Kovac.” Its adaptation to the new level is still in progress. “It was a new level for me. Of course, it is not so easy to just go on a new stage and to do a good performance immediately. But I think I did quite well with my first appearances and had a good start here overall, ”said Svensson. The flexibly usable newcomer on the “left behind” position would most likely be seen.

The BVB provides a turbulent and unsatisfactory season with topics on and off the square. Nevertheless, Svensson said: “An association like Borussia Dortmund can always come back. Almost all teams have a season here and there in which they don’t cut out as well as they actually want. But I know we will come back. ” Dortmund is a “so big and good club that it didn’t affect me when I decide”.
