SV Neuhof is not allowed to register any players for the time being: Fifa imposes a transfer ban on Hessian sixth division teams

As of: 07/11/2023 6:12 p.m

The small SV Neuhof from the association league cannot make any transfers for the time being. World association Fifa has banned the East Hesse from registering players for the next three transfer periods.

SV Neuhof has been banned from transfers by Fifa. A corresponding message from the Fuldaer Zeitung confirmed the Hessian Football Association (HFV). The East Hesse may continue to sign players, but not register them for the game, FIFA specified on Tuesday afternoon in an interview with hr-sport. This could lead to problems for the Hessenliga relegated, fears in the region.

“One labor law dispute”

A player who complained to Fifa about the club is said to be responsible for the de facto transfer ban. The association could not go into detail, but revealed at least: It is a matter of “a dispute under labor law”.

As early as February 14, Fifa imposed a registration ban on SV Neuhof. In April, the penalty was then set for the next three registration periods, i.e. the transfer summer 2023, the transfer winter 2023 and the following summer.

Club is not aware of any mistakes

However, the ban can be lifted at any time. The association league only has to pay off its debts. The association could not say how much the dispute is about.

At SV Neuhof, on the other hand, they are sure that they haven’t made any mistakes. “The ban would have to be lifted soon,” Alexander Bär, the coach and sporting director of the footballers, told hr-sport. He refuses a longer conversation.

Hesse Kassel has also had trouble with Fifa

In fact, it’s not all that unusual for Fifa to penalize lower-league clubs. The last time it hit a Hessian club was about two years ago. At that time, KSV Hessen Kassel was crossed with a player who had not received his salary a few years earlier. However, the north Hesse had filed for bankruptcy shortly thereafter, and the player then received most of his outstanding salary from the employment office.

After the completion of the insolvency proceedings, the player’s advisor then wanted the rest of the money, which is not provided for under German law. Fifa, who was called, nevertheless imposed a transfer ban until the incident was clarified. The KSV then reached an out-of-court agreement with the player side in order to avoid a longer-term transfer ban.
