Football second division SV Elversberg said goodbye to eight players after the lost relegation against Heidenheim.
As the Saarländer announced, the loan players Fisnik Asllani, Muhammed Damar, Elias Baum and Frederik Jäkel will return to their regular clubs. Maurice Neubauer, Luca Dürholtz, Paul Stock and Arne Sicker leave the club.
The SVE did not comment on the rumors about a departure of coach Horst Steffen to Werder Bremen in its press release. The 56-year-old could be the successor to Ole Werner at the traditional club, it is reportedly only to be clarified.
Steffen’s contract in Elversberg runs until 2026, according to media reports he is said to have agreed with Bremen orally on a contract until 2028.
