SV Darmstadt first HSV pursuer after victory

Darmstadt 98 took second place in the 2nd Bundesliga by beating SC Paderborn in a chasing duel.

The Lilien won in East Westphalia after falling behind 2:1 (2:1) and passed the SCP in the table. Darmstadt has been unbeaten for nine games.

Braydon Manu (10th) and Jannik Müller (24th) scored for the guests coached by Torsten Lieberknecht. Paderborn, who had previously won all five home games, had taken the lead through Robert Leipertz (3rd) and even had the chance to make it 2-0 after a missed penalty by Marvin Pieringer (7th).

The 11,238 spectators saw a wild initial phase. First Leipertz accepted a long pass from Maximilian Rohr perfectly and completed it skillfully, shortly afterwards Pieringer and Julian Justvan in the follow-up shot failed because of the brilliantly parrying goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen. Instead of 2-0, it was 1-1 a little later: Manu headed in after a cross from Tobias Kempe to equalize.

And it got even worse for Paderborn when Müller also turned the game around with his head. The SCP reacted uncertainly at first and only vehemently pushed for the equalizer after the break – in vain.
