According to Brazilian media, the settlement took place on Tuesday in Sao José dos Pinhais, a city with more than 300,000 inhabitants in the state of Parana. According to police, Rodrigo ‘Xiru’ was shot in a shopping center parking lot. The execution was captured by a surveillance camera. The gunman managed to flee on a motorcycle and has not yet been identified.

Thousands of tons of cocaine

Sergio Roberto de Carvalho (64) is known as ‘the Brazilian Escobar’. Despite his former position as a major in the Brazilian police, he has been linked to drug trafficking since the 1980s. He is suspected by international police forces of leading an organization that smuggled thousands of tons of cocaine from South America to Europe. Drug smuggling took place in all kinds of ways, both via ships and planes.

However, Sergio Roberto de Carvalho (64) was handcuffed on a terrace in Hungary in 2022. That country handed him over to our country. He is being held here for his part in the smuggling of 3.2 tons of cocaine, drugs with a street value of 160 million euros. He is also suspected of having collaborated with the Limburg drug lord Flor Bressers. The drug baron also came to the attention earlier because he is still entitled to a pension of 6,000 euros per month in his Belgian cell.
