There was a fire last night in a house on Abeelstraat in Schagen. A 28-year-old man has been arrested because the fire is suspected to have been started. No one else was injured.
According to a police spokesperson, the fire remained small because colleagues quickly noticed the fire. They were in the area because of a report. The fire brigade has arrived to put the fire out further.
Even though the fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire quickly, the damage to the house was still ‘significant’. Little is yet clear about the suspect. The relationship between the person and the home is currently being investigated.
