The toddler was robbed of his hat last Saturday on the Stadsplein in the center of Amstelveen, while he was in a stroller. He was pushed by his grandmother.
A few days later a suspect was arrested. Apart from the fact that it concerns a minor, the Public Prosecution Service does not want to say anything about his or her identity. According to the spokesperson, the stolen cap was from a ‘relatively expensive brand’.
Appropriate punishment?
The police wrote that the arrested minor will receive ‘an appropriate punishment’. The Public Prosecution Service does not want to say what such an appropriate punishment would entail. “The public prosecutor will in due course demand a sentence that does justice to the age of the suspect and the circumstances under which the offense was committed.”
