Suspect in Maddie McCann case working on ‘bestseller’ in prison | Abroad

Christian Brückner is currently in prison for raping a retiree at a Portuguese resort, the same resort Madeleine disappeared from in 2007, according to The Telegraph. According to the Spanish Olive Press report, he is working on a ‘bestseller’ in his cell.

The news site writes that the suspect has sent a six-page letter to American blogger Isabelle McFadden, in which he states that his book will certainly sell well. In the alleged letter, he writes about the contents of his manuscript: “I know all these things are hard to believe. John Grisham couldn’t think of a better plot for a book.”

The American McFadden believes in the innocence of the suspect, who does not seem to be bothered by modesty. Brückner claims to be the most famous German ever.

Maddie McCann disappeared on May 3, 2007 just before her fourth birthday from the holiday home her parents had rented in Praia da Luz, Portugal. At the end of last month Christian Brückner, who is incarcerated for rape in Kiel, Germany, was formally declared a suspect.
