The man from Enkhuizen was arrested in September after two reports were received by the police. He has been pretending to be an ‘attractive’ young girl online since 2016. According to the Public Prosecution Service, he spoke to hundreds of boys between the ages of 10 and 16 from home and abroad and obtained explicit photos and videos from them. Sometimes it involved sexual acts.
He is also suspected of abusing two underage boys and raping a 13-year-old boy several times. He allegedly made an appointment with the victim while posing as a girl. While his head was covered with a balaclava, he violently assaulted the boy.
‘No coercion’
According to the suspect’s lawyer, there was no coercion. She questioned the victim’s statement, which she said is different from that of other victims. Also because the sexual contact took place several times.
The images of the victims were found on the suspect’s computer. The first report was received by the police at the end of 2021, but due to a lack of capacity, the case remained pending for more than a year. on the shelf lie. “It is very crude that the rapes took place before the police showed up on his doorstep,” said Frank Weijnen of the Public Prosecution Service.
Huge amount of child pornography
The extent of the case became clear after a house search during which an enormous amount of child pornography was found. More than 500 folders with material were found on the computer. There are no indications that the images have been shared with others.
There are currently ten reports, many victims have been approached by the police recently. The Public Prosecution Service expects that more charges will follow. The Public Prosecution Service is also looking for a boy who was allegedly abused by the suspect in a locker room. The Enkhuizen resident would have written something about that.
“We hope that this victim recognizes this and reports to us,” said Frank Weijnen of the Public Prosecution Service. It is not known whether this would have happened at the SV Enkhuizen football club, where the man was a volunteer.
Sorry
The suspect was also present in court today. He expressed regret and promised to be open about the matter. “I’m sorry we’re all here. I’m sorry for the young victims. I did it under the influence of alcohol, it disinhibited me. If I knew help was so easily accessible, I would have sought it sooner.”
The case will continue on March 17.
