A man who is suspected of attempting to blow up an ATM in the city of Ivanteevka near Moscow turned himself in to the police, informs press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Moscow Region.

“A suspect in an attempt to steal money from an ATM in Ivanteevka voluntarily appeared at the Serpukhovskoye Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia. It turned out to be a previously convicted native of the Udmurt Republic, born in 1988,” the report said.

Earlier, on February 7, the press service of the Investigative Committee for the region told RBC that two men entered the Sberbank branch located in Ivanteevka. They went into a room with ATMs and tried to steal money from the device. When they tried to take the cash, there was an explosion in the room. As a result, one of the men died on the spot, and the second fled the scene. The deceased was also a native of Udmurtia, the press service of the department specified.
