A year after the election to the Berlin House of Representatives, the SPD, which won the election at the time, is only the third strongest party according to a new survey.

Only 17 percent of those entitled to vote would vote for the party of Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey if the elections to the Berlin House of Representatives were to take place next Sunday. This was the result of the “BerlinTrend” published on Wednesday by Infratest dimap on behalf of the rbb24 “Abendschau” and the “Berliner Morgenpost”.

The most popular party in Berlin is currently the Greens: With 22 percent of the votes, they are just ahead of the CDU, which has 21 percent and, like the Greens, was able to improve by one percentage point compared to the last survey in March.

The SPD, on the other hand, slipped three points to 17 percent. According to the survey, the left remains at 12 percent. The AfD increased two points to 10 percent. The FDP lost two points and is now at six percent.

The red-green-red government coalition would therefore currently still have a majority of 51 percent. According to the survey, however, only 31 percent of those surveyed are satisfied or very satisfied with the work of the Senate – in March it was 39 percent.

Satisfaction with the Governing Mayor Giffey also fell: 31 percent said they were satisfied or very satisfied with their work in the survey, compared to 40 percent in March. 55 percent were less or not at all satisfied with Giffey’s work.

Between September 13 and 17, 1173 eligible voters in Berlin were interviewed for the representative survey.
