Banque Syz is optimistic about the new year 2025. In addition to the positive outlook such as a robust global economy, strong profits among S&P 500 companies and lower real interest rates in developed countries, the Swiss private bank also expects some very surprising and potential developments that could also clearly influence the markets next year.
Giorgia Meloni and Elon Musk are officially a couple
Banque Syz, for example, expects that Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Tesla boss Elon Musk will make their relationship official and then a wedding will not be long in coming.
Musk and Meloni have known each other for years and maintain close contact. It was only in September that the Italian Prime Minister chose Musk as her laudator when she was awarded the Atlantic Council’s “Global Citizen Award”. He also wants to use his Starlink satellites to equip those parts of Italy where internet coverage is poor. Meloni, on the other hand, hopes to have a direct line to the US government through Musk, notes the Tagesschau.
While Musk and Meloni emphasized that they do not have a romantic relationship, Banque Syz has a different opinion. As part of this, she predicts that Musk will invest heavily in Italy in the new year, which will ultimately lead to a clear increase on the Italian stock exchanges.
End of the Musk-Trump friendship
However, the Swiss private bank believes that the relationship with Donald Trump will be clearly strained by that between Musk and Meloni. After the assassination attempt on Trump, he received strong support from Musk – the beginning of a real male friendship. Trump also created a position for Musk in the government. Since winning the election, the Tesla boss has gained significantly more influence, which benefits both himself and the electric car pioneer. If Banque Syz has its way, the men will go their separate ways in 2025. Musk will leave DOGE, while Tesla and SpaceX will no longer receive support from the US government. As a result, Tesla’s market capitalization will collapse and Musk will also be accused of tax evasion. Ultimately, Banque Syz believes that the only way out is to leave the USA.
