The dismissal is surprising because Messiaen had only been working as CEO of the manufacturer of Quick.Step floors for two years. He succeeded Bernard Thiers, who headed the company for almost 40 years.
Paul De Cock (Mohawk) is temporary CEO
Paul De Cock will temporarily replace him at Unilin. He is the COO or director of operations at Mohawk Industries, the American listed parent group above Unilin. Unilin employs 7,800 employees
No official reason for dismissal
Unilin does not want to communicate about the reason for the dismissal, the spokesperson told our editors. “We would like to thank Mr Messiaen for his efforts and wish him every success.”
Before he started working at Unilin, Wim Messiaen had a career at Domo, Etex and VPK Packaging Group.
