Surprise medals in para-biathlon: two silvers, one bronze – Paralympics

The German biathletes ensure a strong start to the Paralympics from the perspective of Team Germany. In the six-kilometer sprint for the visually impaired, Linn Kazmaier and Leonie Walter sensationally won silver and bronze.

The only 15-year-old Kazmaier missed the tangible victory with guide Florian Baumann after a missed shot in the second shooting by only 5.6 seconds. It went to the Ukrainian Oksana Schischkowa, who brought her country, which was shaken by the Russian war of aggression, the second gold win at these Paralympics.

“Horny hits it well”Kazmaier commented on her coup. “A Beautiful Feeling”said 18-year-old Walter. “I’m more than satisfied, for sure.” It is logical that Nordic skiing national coach Ralf Rombach was overjoyed.
