Supremo takes over distribution of the children’s shoe brand Lurchi

The shoe wholesaler Supremo is responsible for the children’s shoe brand Lurchi.

The company, based in Pirmasens, Rhineland-Palatinate, will take over sales of the brand from the SS24 season, Supremo announced on Thursday. The brand will continue to be operated by its own team under the leadership of Ralf Balonier and Michael Eckford.

Lurchi was founded in 1949 as a brand for children’s shoes by the shoe supplier Salamander, after the fictional character had been experiencing adventures with her friends in the magazine of the same name since 1937. Like many other companies in the shoe industry, Wuppertaler Salamander Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG and Schuhhaus Klauser GmbH & Co. KG are currently in trouble and have been in one since March Insolvency proceedings in self-administration.

In addition to its own brand of the same name and Lurchi, Supremo is also responsible for the shoe licenses for the brands Tom Tailor and Tom Tailor Denim.
