Minister Karien van Gennip (Social Affairs and Employment) and Minister Carola Schouten (Poverty Policy, Participation and Pensions) have decided to temporarily also make reintegration support by the UWV possible for people who are regarded as fully and permanently incapacitated for work. In recent years, people with an IVA or Wajong-DGA benefit have indicated to the UWV that they want to be eligible for reintegration support. The pilot is in line with the government’s ambition to guide more people with a distance to the labor market into work and to improve the position of people with an occupational disability. The possibility for reintegration support will take effect on 22 April 2023.

Reintegration support at their own request is possible for people with an Income Provision for the Fully Disabled (IVA) or a Wajong benefit with DGA (Sustainable No Labor Capacity). The temporary possibility of reintegration support runs from April 22, 2023 to April 1, 2028.

Reintegration services

With the entry into force of the Order in Council (AMvB), UWV can:

  • use the full support offer, for example a trajectory such as Werkfit, Naar Werk, IPS or training.
  • Granting the reintegration instruments wage dispensation and trial placement
  • provide financial advice. This means providing insight into what effect income from work (could) have on total income.

There are no reintegration obligations for the participants during the term of the order in council. In addition, no reassessments will take place on the basis of earnings until October 2027. This was previously determined via a separate decision ‘No reassessment of IVA and Wajong DGA beneficiaries who earn more than 20% of their representative income through work’.

Would you like to use this option for support to work?

Then you can report to the UWV. This can be done by calling the UWV telephone employees, telephone number 088 – 898 92 94 or by using the chat function via ‘My UWV’. An employment expert will then contact you within 5 working days to discuss the options.

Evaluation

The Order in Council provides for the performance of an evaluation that provides insight into:

  • to what extent people with an IVA and Wajong DGA benefit can find, perform and maintain work with the help of support;
  • to what extent the UWV services and facilities meet people’s needs;
  • to what results the use of reintegration instruments has led.
