ÖSV eagle Daniel Tschofenig had won the 2024/26 ski jumping World Cup. Nevertheless, the Austrian still saw room for improvement in his material, so last tested a new brand. Now the superstar announced to leave his previous outfitter.

So far, the youngster had crashed down the ski jumps from the “Augment” brand, but that will change for the new season. After apparently successful tests, the 23-year-old is now moving to the “Van Deer” brand, which was only founded in 2021 by long-time ski alpine dominator Marcel Hirscher. So far, Tschofenig has been eyeed by the “Augment” company.

In addition to Tschofenig, Planica double world champion Timi Zajc will also wear the skis from the Hirscher brand in the future. “I am extremely pleased to have the two in the team. Not only because Tschofi and Zeko are outstanding athletes, but because they really suit us from mindset,” said the alpine icon in a statement.

Ski jumping: Tschofenig “feels the potential”

“For me, after the mega season, it is about using every chance of optimization for the Olympic winter. I feel this potential at Vandeer-Red Bull Sports: everyone has this passion gene for development and I am very happy to be part of this team,” explains the overall World Cup winner of the pre-season.

Tschofenig and Zajc are not the first superstars of the scene that can be equipped by the Austrian company based in Stuhlfelden. The DSV Adler Andreas Wellinger is also one of the athletes who start in the World Cup with skis from “Van Deer”. The duo’s gain is still a big coup for the brand.
