Supermodel Gisele Bündchen and American football icon Tom Brady get divorced after 13 years | show

updateSupermodel Gisele Bündchen (42) and American football player Tom Brady (45) have divorced after 13 years of marriage.

They both confirm this via Instagram, after American media already reported this afternoon that Bündchen has filed the divorce papers in Florida. “It is with great gratitude for our time together that Tom and I have amicably finalized our divorce,” Gisele wrote to her 20 million followers.

The two have made agreements about their homes and children, which will not be made public. “Our children, whom I love with all my heart, have always been and will remain my number one priority,” she refers to daughter Vivian (9) and son Benjamin (12). The two are co-parenting to give their children “the love, care and attention they so deserve.” “They remain at the heart of our existence in every possible way,” Brady wrote to his 12.8 million fans.

The two have thought long and hard about the decision to split up, according to Brady. He called the decision “painful and difficult.” “But we’ve grown apart,” Gisele adds. “And while it’s obviously hard to go through something like that, I feel blessed for the time we’ve had together and I always wish Tom the best.” Tom also emphasizes that the two want ‘only the best’ for each other and asks for privacy for the coming time.

Bündchen and Brady started dating in late 2006, married three years later and became one of the most famous celebrity couples in the world. Things had not been going well between the two for several months. The lawyers of the Brazilian and the American have reportedly been working on the settlement of the divorce since the beginning of September.

Brady also has a difficult period in the sporting field. On Thursday evening, he lost with his team Tampa Bay Buccanneers in the final quarter to the Baltimore Ravens. It was the first time since 2002 that he lost three games in a row in the NFL.
