The Berlin label Supermarque has opened a new shop concept in Kreuzberg, which will offer more than just clothing. In the 130 square meter shop at Besselstraße 14, fashion is to become a stage for collections, collaborations and conversations, the design, identity and entrepreneurship.

“For me, Supermarque is ‘Home for Black with that je ne Sais quoi’-a curated place in the area of tension between style, entrepreneurship and responsibility. I want to bring people together, give inspiration and give a little joy,” comments Supermarque founder Marc Sasserath in a message.

In addition to its own ethically produced European men’s fashion, Supermarque also offers collaborations and essential pieces of the men’s wardrobe from other brands. The focus is on durability, craftsmanship and timeless style.

The important focal point of the room is a black LE-CORBUSIER sofa, a gift from Sasserath’s parents at study times. It inspired the “Le Black sofa” discussion format, which is produced in the store. The monthly talk and podcast format is moderated by Sasserath and creative director Christine Pluess.

“Without a script or filters, people come into conversation here who get to the point of the creative, entrepreneurial and social issues – directly, personally, undisguised,” says the message.

The next talk on July 10th is about how retail real cultural influence can arise. Yasin Müjdeci, founder of the Voo Store fashion and design concept and one of the formative heads of the Berlin fashion scene, will report on how curated retail can become a cultural place.

origin

The story of Supermarque began in 1871 when Johann W. Sasserath, great -grandfather of Marc Sasserath, laid the foundation stone for Jo We Sa in Mönchengladbach Rheyd, a manufacturer of wicks for oil lamps. Marc Sasserath revived the company and changed his direction with the vision of producing the world’s best white mansion.

The Supermarque brand is an expansion of this vision: it not only offers its own products, including black shirts and luxurious pajamas, but also curates a selection of high -quality products from other brands that meet Sasserath’s personal taste.
