Superfan Henny can return to FC Eindhoven thanks to the help of volunteers

Henny can go to football matches of her beloved club FC Eindhoven again. She is in a wheelchair and has been unable to attend matches in the Jan Louwers Stadium for months due to transport problems. Volunteers from the club are now going to help her. “I’ll see my soccer buddies again soon,” she says overjoyed.

FC Eindhoven is everything to Henny. But since the end of last year she can no longer go to competitions. Due to her disability, she needs the Taxbus to get to and from the stadium. She then had to be ready hours in advance and sometimes arrived as early as four o’clock, while a match only started in the evening. Even after the game she had to wait a long time for transport back.

But she was suddenly told by an FC Eindhoven steward that it was no longer desirable for Henny to wait in the stadium hours before and afterwards. This would, among other things, hinder the preparations for the selection. Due to staff shortages at Taxbus, she could not be dropped off at the stadium later and picked up earlier.

It caused a lot of sadness for Henny. “When I think about that, the tears come. I just don’t sleep. FC Eindhoven is everything to me,” she previously told Studio040.

Flowers and apologies
Fortunately, help is on the way. Volunteers from FC Eindhoven will pick up and bring Henny so she can come to matches again. The costs are the responsibility of the club. On Monday, the club even brought flowers and cakes to apologize to Henny.

Henny is pleased that there is a solution, because she has not been able to see the first team play football for months now. She can also finally see her soccer buddies again. “That will be fun, but also sad. A few have already died.”
