THEand celebrities are more similar to us than the red carpet suggests. Under the flashes of the Cannes Film Festival they seem unattainable icons, sculpted in couture dresses and vertiginous heels. But just step off the red carpet to find them in the most strategic (and human) of style choices: the dancers.

The Summer 2026 shoe trend has also arrived on the Croisettewhere however it took a specific direction. The stars have already decided how to wear them: with white dresses and skirts, between minimalism, freshness and that French casualness that immediately makes you chic.

Mesh ballerinas and white dress: the easy chic version

After dominating 2026 fashion from fall to spring, the dancers don’t seem willing to slow down the oaxis. It is due to them the definitive return of heelless shoes, now perfectly at ease even in contexts where, until recently, at least 8 cm seemed essential. For this reason we will also wear them in Summer 2026, also thanks to the stars who, on the Croisette, are wearing them with very specific looks. The off-duty trend was inaugurated Simone Ashley, photographed outside her hotel with a couple of Black Mary Jane mesh ballet flatslight and breathable, perfect for the season. The actress paired them with a White knee-length mini dress and to a long trench coat, always white. To complete, one bucket bag in black leather and oval glasses: here’s how to wear the summer ballerina between now and September.

Bon ton, but not too much: the French look that immediately becomes trendy

What initially seemed like just a successful look turned into a real trend in Cannes. The ballerinas and white dress pairing conquered the Croisetteestablishing itself as the simplest and most chic formula for wearing flat shoes even in summer. Also Daisy Edgar-Jones he gave his own interpretation, choosing a couple of black leather ballet flats for your arrival at Nice airport. Above, un white dress with an almost Renaissance feelwith fitted bodice, low waist and full skirt. With a beige pullover knotted on the shoulders and a black handbag, the outfit is as elegant as it is casual. A perfect synthesis ofFrench aesthetics in 2026: romantic by vocation, trendy by necessity.

The over 50 version of Demi Moore, chic and without heels

And if there is a trend that is making people talk on the Croisette, it could only be embraced by the face of this edition of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival: Demi Moore. The godmother of the festival has chosen the same formula, but with a variation on the ideal theme also for the looks over 50. No mini dress, in this case, but a total white look by Ami Parisconsisting of one skirt basque and one matching shirt.

Above, tone on tone, a white blazer silk; under a couple of slingback ballet flats Roger Vivier, these too are white. Open on the heel, with a micro heel, this model is more slim than the classic flat ballerina, making the trend immediately more elegant.

Although it is the Red Carpet of the Cannes Film Festival 2026 that makes us dream, it is off the red carpet, on the Croisette, that the stars offer the most beautiful style inspirations. The ones to really copy, right away.
