The Egyptian team, the second with the most participations in this competition, with eight, achieved its goal thanks to Marcell Koller who has not yet known defeat.
In a close duel, with excessive precautions and without scoring chances, it was Al Ahly who achieved their goal. ANDhe Seattle Sounders, the first MLS team qualified to play in a Club World Cup, paid for their conservatism. When he wanted to react, the team led by Brian Schmetzer no longer had time.
Providential was Afsha’s exit onto the field, who at game time took Hamdi Fathi’s place. He was already able to score five minutes after jumping onto the field. It was the clearest occasion, with a shot from the edge of the area that went wide.
When the match seemed doomed to extra time, and without goals, it broke up in the final stretch. With a shot from Afsha that hit the crossbar and which he later collected to execute a second attempt that, after hitting a defender, went into the goal, impossible for goalkeeper Stefan Frei.
