The power grid appears to be less overloaded than a long time was thought. Network manager Tennet has discovered that no less than 9.1 gigawatts of unused capacity are available outside of peak hours. Enough to fully charge 450,000 electric cars in one hour, or to deliver electricity to 10 million households for a year.
