Stump victory for Stützle’s Senators against Greiss

National ice hockey player Tim Stützle has confirmed his top form in the NHL.

With the Ottawa Senators, the native of Viersen scored a 7-2 (1-0, 4-0, 2-2) win over the St. Louis Blues, Stützle scored twice and set up another goal.

The 21-year-old made it 2-0 through Alex DeBrincat (22′) against German goalie Thomas Greiss, who was on the ice from the start for the guests.

He then scored his 23rd and 24th goals of the season (28th/48th). Greiss fended off less than 80 percent of the opponent’s shots.

Overall, Stützle now has 59 scorer points. Playoff spots remain a long way off for the Senators, despite winning seventh in nine games as they sit second-to-bottom in the Atlantic Division.
