Housing association Alwel intervenes because students have been in the cold for months. In a letter to the two hundred students, they say that the pellet stove of heat supplier Eteck will now remain on all day. It was deported in the evening after a complaint about noise nuisance. “We do not accept that Eteck will not solve this problem,” writes housing.

Students told their story at Omroep Brabant on Wednesday. In the evenings they have had no hot water and hardly any warmth in the houses since November.

Noise nuisance is a biomassa kettle, fired on wood pellets, plotted in the evening. Present gas boilers that serve as a backup and for peak load then take over. But they cannot handle the demand for heat and hot water.

Waiting for solution
Complaining at both housing association Alwel and heat supplier Eteck did not help anything. Although he denied something about the problems. “” We have not received any signals, “said a spokesperson. That is remarkable, because students showed e -mails to Alwel to Omroep Brabant. Heat supplier Eteck said they were working on a quieter solution.

But now it appears that students do not have to wait for a solution, Eteck has addressed Eteck and the biomassa kettle will remain on from now on. “It is very annoying to be in the cold and that should not be the case,” writes Alwel. “You expect a warm room and that is not always the case now.”

Student Lucas told his story at Omroep Brabant:

Relieved
“As the landlord, we are not responsible for the heat supply, but we do not accept that Eteck will not solve this problem. That is why we have spoken with them,” writes further to the students.

From now on the students have hot water again all day and the heating can run at full force again. To prevent problems and complaints about noise pollution in the future, the pellet stove will be adjusted soon.

Student Lucas (23) reacts relieved and glad that from now on he can shower and wash again whenever he wants. He still hopes for a compensation from Eteck, because he spent months in the evening with a sweater and blankets in bed for some warmth.

Eteck can be brief about competence: “There is no question of a delivery break, so there is no entitlement to compensation,” the company says.
