Wyseure started the race strongly and, together with Toon Aerts and Emiel Verstrynge, was the first to enter the mud. Afterwards he fell back for a while, but in a tough cross the big engines come up.
Before the start he indicated that he was looking forward to it and the man from Lichtervelde showed that. In the penultimate lap he overtook former Belgian champion Aerts and Wyseure finished third after Van Aert and Verstrynge. It is already the third time that Wyseure has been on the podium after his victory in Ruddervoorde and his third place in Zonhoven.
