A 33-year-old man without a fixed address in our country was arrested on Tuesday for reckless driving behavior. The motorist has been known for years as a street racer in and around Roosendaal. He shared videos of the bizarre speeds he drove on social media.
The images that the man made earlier show that someone is driving at high speed through Roosendaal and the surrounding area. Many followers see life -threatening scenes pass by, including by residential areas.
The police and the Public Prosecution Service have also seen these images and find the driving behavior of the street racer a thorn in the eye. The police could not arrest the man before, because his face on the videos does not come into the picture.
Research has been done into the images. With the permission of the public prosecutor, agents managed to tackle the man outside the act on Tuesday afternoon for his reckless driving behavior.
‘Namnable and anonymous’
In addition, the car in which he was driving at that time and his Dutch and foreign driving licenses were taken. “It should not be the case that someone feels so inviolable and anonymous and is such a danger for fellow road users,” the police write in a press release.
It must still be possible to proven that the speed has actually been driven and who was the driver. The police are investigating this further and send the file to the public prosecutor, who makes a further decision.
