Linus Straßer narrowly missed the podium. The Munich native came fourth in the slalom in Adelboden, but celebrated his best result of the season.

In the end, Straßer was seven hundredths short of a place on the podium. Nevertheless, fourth place was the Munich native’s best result of the season (1:52.92 minutes/+0.3 seconds). He had to admit defeat to the Austrian Dominik Raschner, who gained 13 places and surprisingly made it to the podium.

Straßer self-critically: “Could have skied better”

He wants “select the full throttle option“, Straßer had announced before his second run. It wasn’t that fast after all. The 31-year-old only showed the twelfth best time in the second run and had to admit defeat in the fight for the podium.

I’m already disappointed“, admitted Straßer on the ARD microphone. “I really wanted to be on the podium” said the man from TSV 1860 Munich, who blamed himself for missing the podium.”I could have skied better in both runs. It’s my fault“, is the honest analysis of the best German slalom skier.

Holzmann is in the top 20

Sebastian Holzmann had a very good first run and went into the final round in twelfth place. But there he couldn’t really get going and fell behind. It was still enough for a place among the top 15 drivers for the second time this winter. The man from SC Oberstdorf ended up 13th.”I’m still happy because it’s the first time I’ve scored points here“, Holzmann said with satisfaction in the ARD interview. It was his best performance of the season.

The other DSV starters Anton Tremmel and Fabian Himmelsbach were already eliminated in the first round.
