THEon the night of December 25th brought both gifts and the new, highly anticipated, 3 episodes of Stranger Things 5 Volume 2. Fans of the series they waited until 2.00 in the morning to tune in on Netflix and discover the validity or otherwise of all the theories and anticipations regarding the fate of Hawkins’ heroes. However, despite some interesting moments, this second part turned out to be only an instrumental (and at times verbose) summary bridge for the grand finale, available on the streaming platform starting from 2.00 am on January 1, 2026.

No need to go around it: the 3 episodes The Shock, The escape from Camazotz And the Bridge they were a ploy, while enjoyable, to pull the threads of the story while waiting for an ending which promises sparks, laughter and tears for everyone. A sophisticated trick that William Shakespeare would ironically describe as a Much ado about nothing but well packaged. If part 1 was a real feast for the eyes thanks to a return of content and emotions that were watered down in the penultimate season of the series, volume 2 promises but fails to deliver.
Will, Eleven, Mike and company often wander around in circles, they seem to find solutions to the problem but then admit they were wrong. They take a step forward regarding the mystery of the Upside Down and then fall two spaces back. Just like the mythological and much loved role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons.
The plot of the triad is very fragmented with superabundance of cumbersome explanations. At regular intervals silences full of useless waiting begin and a quantity of flashbacks that do nothing but confusetrying to keep the attention of their fans. It’s a shame that the followers risk losing their patience several times and the nerves. On a positive note: all the social media speculations about the future of its protagonists and total bets on which character will die tragically are, at the moment, completely incorrect.
Stranger Things 5 Vol 2: Will, Eleven, Mike and company often go around in circles
At the end of the first chapter, Will (Noah Schnapp) he managed to stop the demogorgons thanks to his new powers. His incredible change impressed his mother and his friends. Now, for everyone, he is a real sorcerer in the flesh even though he doesn’t have Eleven’s innate powers. He absorbs those of Vecna when in contact with the swarm mind, the collective consciousness of the monsters of the Upside Down.
This small defeat did not deter the enemy from his horrible plan. Henry (Jamie Campbell Bower) she still has 12 children, including little Holly Wheeler (Nell Fisher), who will become it tool to shape the world he has in mind. The little ones are in the Camazotzin his childhood home. He took their life energy as he had already done with Will and now talks about the importance of helping him defeat the darkness to save their parents. He doesn’t know yet that Mike’s younger sister and Nancy Wheeler she joined Max (Sadie Sink), to stop his crazy plan.
Eleven (Millie Bobbie Brown) and Hopper (David Harbor) take Sister Kali away from the laboratory (Linnea Berthelsen), who she tells them the secret behind Dr. Kay’s actions (Linda Hamilton). The woman continues Doctor Brenner’s (Matthew Modine) experiment but he captured Kali not to study her powers. For months, he extorted hectoliters of blood from her, which he then transfused to many pregnant women, held prisoner in a wing of the military hospital. Eleven is special not for drugs administered as a child: Henry gave her powers. She and Vecna possess the same faculties.

From the Upside Down to the Exotic Mind
Hawkins’ company is still divided. The first groupmade up of Eleven, Hop and Kali, is desperately looking for Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will, Joyce (Winona Ryder) Robin (Maya Hawke) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) because he lost track of them. Luckily, only the transmitter broke the 4 are studying a ruse to allow Will the sorcerer to get back in touch mental with Vecna. To do so, they must exploit the particles of the demogorgons killed during the battle through the radio tower.
The third phalanx, composed of Nancy (Natalia Dyer) Jonathan (Charlie Heaton), Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) I’m looking for Holly. Max and Holly find the door into Henry’s painful memories and in that secret that transformed him from a good child to an evil destroyer of the world. Will can see the two girls because Vecna is looking for them: sent the demogorgons to the hospital to take his body away. Lucas runs to her aid.

To make the flood of explanations of the 3 episodes more bearable is, as usual, the close-knit cast of young actors. In particular, Lhe narrative parables of Max and Holly are the most interesting. Little Holly, surprisingly, becomes a fundamental pawn in the great game of Stranger Things. Max, saved at the last minute by Lucas from the clutches of the Demogorgons, she finally woke up. The only one missing is Holly. She and Max had to separate because each door to return to Hawkins is closely tied to personal memories and beliefs.
Nancy had almost succeeded in bringing her home but the long hand of Henry took her back to Camazotz. The plan to save the world is almost ready, even if it could mean the sacrifice of two protagonists. Will gathers his friends and reveals the secret that has tormented him all his life. This way, he could face Vecna with no more weaknesses.
