Blokker bankrupt
In 2015, the store chain made a loss for the first time and the situation only worsened in the following years, according to the nos. Due to the financial situation, Blokker decided in May 2017 to divest the other chains, so that the company could focus entirely on the Blokker stores. In the following months, the group sold Intertoys, Leen Bakker and Xenos to various parties.
On November 13, 2024, Blokker was declared bankrupt after 128 years. To pay off the debts, the sale of (part of) the Blokker stores is an option. It is not yet possible to say how long this will last. That’s up the Blokker website.
At the time of writing, Blokker has more than 400 stores and 3,500 employees. The branches will remain open until the end of this year.
