Storm blog: injured by shock from lightning • dangerous branch from tree

Lightning struck a house in Berkel-Enschot this afternoon. Due to the hard blow, a chimney and a number of solar panels were damaged at the house on the Akkerweg.

One of the residents was injured by an electric shock, a spokesperson for the Central and West Brabant Security Region said. It is not clear whether this person was also taken to the hospital. “This person felt a shock and afterwards did not feel well,” said a spokesman for the Central and West Brabant Security Region.

The impact was accompanied by a gigantic blow. The chimney suffered considerable damage, debris fell down and damaged a car. The impact has caused earth leakage to several homes in the district.

Around the corner, on the Molenakker, lightning struck a second house. The house was not damaged there, but all the plugs were blown out. The resident was helped by the fire brigade to get everything going again.
