Due to a fire in Schaijk that released a lot of smoke and stench, an NL-Alert was sent early Monday morning.

“It concerns a hay fire that started on Sunday evening due to overheating,” says a spokesperson for the Security Region. “It concerns a large mountain of hay. We have been putting out the fire since Sunday evening. Little by little, that mountain has to be pulled apart and extinguished. That takes a long time and a lot of smoke is released. and the distribution area is large, we sent that NL-Alert around a quarter to seven in the morning.”

Kind of fog over the road
The NL-Alert calls for people to stay out of the smoke as much as possible “This nuisance is expected in the next twelve hours”, the Safety Region reports on Twitter. The NL-Alert has been issued for a large area.

People who drive near Uden on Monday morning say that ‘a kind of fog’ hangs over the road there.
