The continued misery at RTL Tonight ensures that the first heads are rolling. After the departure of editor-in-chief Carlo van Lienden, reporter Stijn de Vries is now also out.
It is nothing and it will never be anything: RTL Tonight, the failed talk show for which Beau van Erven Dorens, Humberto Tan and Renze Klamer have given up their programs. The viewing figures are so poor that the important guests no longer come and that leads to even lower viewing figures, in other words: a downward spiral.
Steven out
The first heads are rolling, because after the departure of editor-in-chief Carlo van Lienden, reporter Stijn de Vries is now also out. “That’s it! I’m going to stop at RTL Tonight. Learned a lot, laughed a lot, now it’s time for other adventures. And believe me: they will come. Looking forward to it. ❤️,” he writes Instagram.
Stijn barely had a role at RTL Tonight. He only did a few things for the socials of the program. For example, we saw him last week with a nonsense item in which he visited a tickle salon.
‘Couldn’t wait’
RTL confirms the news. “In recent weeks, the format of RTL Tonight has been adjusted in various ways,” said a spokesperson. “As a result, components that were devised at the start of the program turn out differently in the current design or are omitted. This leaves too little room for Stijn’s talents and ideas.”
TV authority Tina Nijkamp thinks it is logical. She writes on her analysis channel: “The first exclusive expert away at RTL Tonight. Stijn de Vries. Couldn’t wait. Was almost no longer used for the show, actually only online (the last item was that ‘tickle item’).”
Stijn is out:
